The Role
​
We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Unreal Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract, with the potential for transitioning into a permanent role.
You will work closely with programmers, designers and artists to implement and optimize gameplay features.
You will be responsible for developing high-quality, performant code and learning as much as possible so that you can help us build great games as you grow.

6 month full-time contract role, New Zealand remote only

What you would be doing​

Develop, and maintain game systems using Unreal Engine 5
-
Implement robust, high-quality code in C++ to meet design specifications
-
Optimize game features for performance and scalability
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and workflows
-
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
-
Participate in agile development methodologies like Scrum or Kanban

What you must have
-
0-2 years of experience working in games as a programmer
-
Strong foundations in C++ programming
-
Experience working with Unreal Engine
-
Knowledge of version control systems (Perforce / Git / etc)
-
A desire to learn and further improve your skills
-
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
-
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail

Availability between 9 am and 5 pm on weekdays (New Zealand time)

A base in New Zealand with the right to work here

Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written

Multiplayer networking experience

Experience with Unreal Engine’s Gameplay Ability System

Prior experience with shipping a game
